From Man-Spirit to God-Spirit

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
    for those who love him.”
But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.
When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.
1 Corinthians 2:9-13 (New Living Translation)

In our previous reflection we identified ourselves as children of the Living God. In this context, the apostle Paul provides a deep insight into the vast blessings showered by our Almighty God on us, His children.

We feel that we are aware of our
entire surroundings, but what if we aren't? We are still unaware of the glory of our God. It seems unreal but it can only be revealed by the Spirit of God. We have been ignorant of this infinite Spiritual beauty; it being fairly new amongst us hence has never been seen, heard or even imagined.

We all believe that we have a spirit inside us that controls our dwelling on Earth. Our spirit is our 'Buddy for Life' helping us in each and every deed we do, be it good or bad. It accompanies us until we take our last breath. Our spirit knows us from deep within and is familiar with all our actions and deeds. Similarly, God's Spirit is fully aware of His counsel, eternal salvation, redemption and infinite knowledge that cannot be judged by our finite human brain. We are but men and all these things can only be revealed to us by the Spirit of God.

Just as the spirit of man lives in his body, similarly God's Spirit,
the third identity in the Trinity, lives in Him. It is known that man is always aware of his actions, intentions, purposes, intellect, plans, etc. No other person is conscious of all these except the same man himself. Likewise, the spirit of God is aware of His actions, intentions, plans, etc which no other spirit or angel is aware of. The eternal truth behind salvation, redemption, sanctification can never be fulfilled without His Spirit.

We, as believers have been blessed with the Spirit of God. No earthly wisdom or knowledge can ever be put into comparison to God's wisdom even to the slightest extent. To understand the same, we need guidance from God's Spirit i.e. the Holy Spirit. There are His countless Amazing Qualities which we get to know of only via the Holy Spirit.

It is these eternally righteous qualities that cannot be interpreted by any earthly wisdom but the Holy Spirit. These spiritual truths can never be explained in earthly words but rather, spiritual words.

Message for the week:

If we are willing to be guided in the righteous path and utter such spiritual words, we need to call upon His Spirit to guide us and it will be done as 'Prayers of faith are never left unanswered'.

Recite this short prayer with me, "Lord, I want to experience your glory as promised by you in my salvation. I believe that the Holy Spirit will lead me in knowing you. I hereby call upon your Spirit to enlighten me and guide me on my way to Sanctification.”

Amen
God bless you

We are children of the Living God

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
1 John 3:1-3 (New Living Translation)

We call ourselves children of the Living God. Yes, that’s true. We indeed are children of the Living God. This world identifies us through our parents. Have we ever tried identifying us through our eternal parent, our Living God? Have we ever asked ourselves self-centred questions like what we are, what shall we be and what we should be? Like we inherit our parent's values, we are also urged to inherit God's values but we tend not to do so. Being our righteous parent, God has pre-planned our future and He gives an answer to these questions for all of us through His Word.

What we are: We are the children of our eternal Living God. We
should thank God for giving us an identity as His children. This specific factor shows how great is His love that He has lavished on us, even us being sinners. We, being believers are the lucky chosen ones who are saved due to His righteousness. But the non-believers don't know about us being saved because they don't know His righteous love, amazing grace, eternal sacrifice. It's our duty being His children to save the lost lamb from destruction.

What shall we be: It is not yet known what we shall be but being children of God, it is evident that we shall be like him. Everyone believes the fact that God will reveal Himself during the Final Days of earth. It has been told that we will be like Him for we will get to see Him. This statement can lead to a misconception. It doesn't say that when we see God, the next moment we'll be like Him rather we as Christians practise certain morals and ethics in our everyday life rendering us to be like Him. Everything doesn't take place all of a sudden. The entire process of Creation wasn't all of a sudden. It took six days and on the seventh day God rested. It is during the last days that we will get to see God just because of all our exhibited moral values summed up before the Supreme Judge and get us to be just like Him, i.e. righteous, faithful, honest, courteous, just, forgiving, etc.

What we should be: We all wish to be saved in eternity and we put our hopes in God that He will save us. But just putting our hope in Him would lead us nowhere. If we are willing to be saved, we should make our deeds worthy enough to get us saved.

We need to eradicate our sinful nature and purify ourselves just as He is pure. To simplify the above statement, we have to get rid of our sinful nature and imbibe in ourselves righteous qualities that we get to be like Him.

Message for the week:

Just putting our hopes in God won’t save us. We, being His children need to sanctify our acts to the extent that we reflect His values in our everyday deeds in order to SAVE OURSELVES.
Recite this short prayer with me, "Lord, I believe You are my everlasting Parent and I am Your eternal child. Being Your child, I wish to inherit Your values to be like You when I get to see You. Lead me in your path that I may purify myself just as you are pure.”

Amen
God bless you
