Merry Christmas

The Christmas season has begun already and we are all filled with strong enthusiasm, charisma, abundant grace, joy and happiness. We will get to meet our relatives, close friends and all our near and dear ones. Celebrating Christmas gets even more exciting when we pamper our taste buds with the super-delicious Christmas cake that we all bake for ourselves celebrating our Saviour's birthday. Yes, it was this day when a child was born to a virgin conceived by the Holy Spirit. Our Eternal King was born to us not in a palace but in a manger, a lowly manger. It was all unexpected. How can a baby be born to a virgin? But, says the Word

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us).
           ~Matthew 1:22-23
No one had even the faintest idea that our King's birth would take place in a lowly manger surrounded by sheep and cattle. Our Heavenly Father already foretold our Saviour's birth long before His actual birth through the prophet Isaiah as mentioned in His book.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

        ~Isaiah 7:14
He foretold His birth, also His place of birth through prophet Micah which reads
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
    from ancient days.
            ~Micah 5:2
.
Everything was made known, except the time. No one knew when will our Lord take our form (human form) and dwell amongst us, proclaiming the good news, giving Himself as an eternal sacrifice for our sins thus bridging the gap between us and our Heavenly Father.
Likewise, the Word tells us about the last days of earth when we'll experience suffering and persecution, the defeat of the devil and the formation of a new Heaven and Earth with His 'second coming'. Our human wisdom, challenging its finite knowledge to God's infinite wisdom, came up with an ideology of the end-days, the so called apocalypse, the proposed time and other related information scaring lots who believed it rather than trust God who is the source of our finite knowledge. Our prophecies came up with such blasphemous events. We have been told through the Word that yes, the world will face its last days. But(and this is a huge 'but') we have not been told the time. The Word tells us that no one(not even the angels) nor the Son knows that specific time. It's only known to the Father.
But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
            ~Matthew 24:26
These were the words spoken by our Saviour when asked about His 'second-coming' and closing of the age. Do we consider ourselves that we can read God's mind and know His plans? The plans of Our Creator? Lets ponder over a simple question: After being moulded into a pot by the Potter, does clay know when will it be crushed and remoulded into a new pot? Its only known to the Potter.
Our Saviour was sent to us, to bridge the gap between us and our Heavenly Father. We should celebrate our victory over death, brought forth by His coming. Hallelujah!!
God bless you

Message for the week:

Christmas is derived from ‘Christ’s mass’. Christmas is generally symbolised by snow-men, Santa Claus, Christmas cake, carols. We are Christ’s mass and he should be our chief attention for Christmas. Our finite knowledge can never be compared to God’s infinite knowledge who holds the key to our “beginning and the end”.

Recite this short prayer with me, "Lord, You sent your only son amongst us showing your love for us thereby, strengthening our faith. We believe in your unending love for us and Our Saviour who bridged our gap from you. You created us and have set a certain time for us in this realm.”

Amen
God bless you
